Action Against Bullying and Violence

Action Against Bullying and Violence.   It's a good day to remind everyone that 'Bullying is NOT ok!' and for everyone to take a stand together.  Be an active bystander- look out for each other and respect people's feelings.  Be there for your friends and take care of each other.

Here are some tips on what to do if you are bullied:-

  •  Talk with the person who is bullying you (if you think it's a safe thing to do).  Ask a friend to come with you.

  • If possible, ignore the person bullying you. When they are ignored, kids who bully often lose interest.

  • Don't try to get back at the person who bullies you. It usually doesn't work, and you can end up in trouble too.

  • Hang around people who help you feel good about yourself.

If it happens on the phone or internet:

  • Don't respond to the other person but keep the message or post to show someone when you are getting help.

  • Ask for help to turn on a block so you don't get the bullying posts or texts.

  • If these tips don't work, tell someone and ask for their help.

Our school bullying reporting system 'My Place' will be available very soon via the student portal to report incidents of bullying.  Stay tuned for more details and the launch of our very own unique reporting system.
