Congratulations Big Band

18/09/2013

Big Congratulations to Big Band who performed at the Redlands Spring Festival (Redfest) last Friday night. You sounded awesome! Alexandra Hills was the first group on, so final sound mixes were being conducted as we played. Congratulations to Ms. Winch and the students for an outstanding performance, which received commendations from the adjudicators and compere, John Morrison. Special congratulations to Indea Sekula, for being awarded “best vocalist” and to drummer David Hensler who was given Mr. Morrison’s hat off his head as a special award for his drumming prowess!! Very well done everyone!

Congratulations also to Dance troupe for their First (Fresh), Second (Junior Contemporary) and Third (Boys) placings at the Rumble Dance Competition on Saturday Night. These results are especially noteworthy since the competition included professional dance studios. Well done Mr. Newton, Ms Carmody and all the students who re-choreographed, rehearsed and performed on the day.

The AMPS committee was busy on Saturday, selling raffle tickets and recycling trash for treasure at the Voting Booths. Funds raised will be donated to the Southcott family to assist with the family’s house alterations necessary for Hugo’s wheel chair accessibility.

A big “thank you” to the Tech Crew, and parent Mark Button who gave up a Sunday Morning to help prepare props for the upcoming Performing Arts Showcase “Cubby House”. Invitations to teachers are in your pigeon holes today, and tickets will be on sale after the holidays. If you intend coming please see Karen before the holidays. All staff are invited, including ancillary staff.
