Exceptional Achievement in Languages

The school currently has over 20 students studying a language through either Brisbane School of Distance Education or a local Language School.  Recently, students who study with Brisbane School of Distance Education participated in the Language Perfect World Championships.

The competition was a 10 day online vocabulary championship that ran with schools from the United Kingdom, North America, New Zealand and Australia.  Participants were tested on their reading, listening and writing skills in twelve different languages.  For one of our students competing in this competition, it was their very first year of studying their chosen language.

They individually answered 6009 questions during this competition and  earned 2430 points for Brisbane School of Distance Education. Kaitlyn Tomkinson of Year 9  has earned a Silver Award and placed in the top 5% of 225 000 competitors for this wonderful effort.

Congratulations to Kaitlyn Tomkinson of Year 9 on an exceptional achievement.
