School Hall

Our School Hall has developed in stages to meet the needs of the school. It started as a roofed area with sports courts. As our needs grew and funding became available it was expanded.

Stage 2 was completed in 2000. At this time walls were built in to make the Hall a complete building. The performance stage was built, making the facility very useful for both Performing Arts activities and school parades, Parent Teacher Meetings and many other school activities. The HPE and Sport staffrooms and sports storage areas were also built at this time.

In 2009 Change rooms for Performing Arts performances were built adjoining the stage to ensure sufficient space for students to do their costume changes and also dry weather access that wasn’t available with the other amenities areas. The Change rooms have developed into a multi-use area with the Visual Arts Department using it for both their Art Show and photography activities.

In 2011 the Hall was in need of some updating. The Hall was painted internally in a colour scheme designed by a young person starting out on their study in Interior Design. New velvet stage curtains were installed. A new, much larger screen and data projector were installed to enhance our productions. To improve air circulation in the hot weather, two 5 metre fans were installed in the main part of the Hall and two 2.5 metre fans installed over the stage, making a more comfortable facility for performers, the audiences and sporting teams. At this time it was also decided to have external aluminium louvers installed to cut the sun, and thereby the heat, providing shade through the high windows.

Our Tech Crew students have always done an outstanding job with the sound requirements for the various events. They managed to do this while sitting on a small raised portable stage. In 2012 a professional Sound room was built at the rear of the Hall so that all equipment can be kept fully set up and stored between the many performances and parades held in the Hall.

The Hall has a floating timber floor which is fully marked up for sport. In 2013 the timber floor was given a full upgrade with the new current markings being completed.

Through all of these developments our Hall has continued to provide a very useful facility for the students of our school.
